Certain software is required for controlling aircraft on the VATSIM network.  Controllers must use an appropriate radar client and approved configurations for that software.  All vZID controllers are required to use approved sector files and position files.

Radar Client Downlaods

Virtual Radar Client - Currently the standard radar client for vZID controllers.  This is recommended for new students or those simply wishing to observe controlling on the network.

Euroscope - This is a relatively new and upcoming radar client for use on the VATSIM network.  Though it is a very standard piece of software used in European airspace it has been relatively slow to adopt in the United States.  Euroscope has alot of potential for the future and has limited support here at vZID.  New controllers wising to use Euroscope are advised that not all instructors and mentors will be able to provide support for this programs operation.

Sector File Packages

VRC Complete Software Package - This package contains all the necessary files to make your VRC installation vZID compliant.  Current version is 1.2 New (Updated February 4, 2012)

Euroscope Files - These are all the files necessary to view vZID facilities through the Euroscope radar client. Current Version is 1.3 New (Updated February 4, 2012)
