I will definitely miss it
Gentlemen,
These last two and one half years as the Training Administrator for ZID has been very enjoyable for me. I hope that many of you feel the same. I believe that I have established and maintained a consistent training system for the members of Indianapolis, and it is time for me to pass these duties on to someone else. Effective Wednesday, September 21, 2011, I will no longer be the active training administrator for this great membership. I thank Bruce for maintaining the ARTCC and allowing me to participate in its improvements, but most of all I would like to thank him for being a great friend. I would also like to thank the training staff for their participation in assisting me in accomplishing our goals. Instructors Davor Kusec and Sam Rosko were great to work with. Let’s not also forget all of the countless hours that the Mentors have spent improving the understanding of air traffic control procedures to the membership of ZID. I thank you for your participation. Lastly, I must thank the entire membership of ZID. There are so many here that I have built relationships with. Unfortunately, since there are so many of you, it is impossible to list everyone.
I have been offered and accepted the role of ATM at the Atlanta ARTCC. I am grateful that there are other members within the ARTCC which, although they may feel they are not ready, will do a great job of taking the helm of the training department. Obviously, remaining as a visiting controller I look forward to reading news about the continuous improvement of the Indianapolis ARTCC. I also look forward to working hand in hand with ZID while at ZTL as well as participating in ZID events especially our annual trip to Oxford.
Again, Thank You!
William Lewis
